As the summer heats up North Dakota is hoping to keep cooling costs down. Starting this month Community Action agencies around the state are offering cooling assistance to low-income households. People over 60, or those with medical conditions, can qualify for the service. Clients can receive up to $800 to fix old air conditioning units or buy new ones. For many, the assistance improves quality of life.
