The CPFB are the U.S. government agency that makes sure banks, lenders and other financial companies treat you fairly. They protect consumers from unfair, deceptive, or abusive practices and take action against companies that break the law. The CPFB also arms people with the information, steps, and tools that they need to make smart financial decisions.

The CFPB will forward your complaint to the company and work to get a response from them. Financial products or services could include: mortgage, student loan, vehicle loan or lease, payday loan, credit card or prepaid card, credit reporting, debt collection, or a money transfer.
