Self Sufficiency Program
The Self Sufficiency program is comprised of a variety of services all designed to improve the standard of living and help promote the self-sufficiency of low-income individuals.
Distributes commodity foods to low-income seniors
Assistance in paying for a past due light bill in the event of a financial crisis
Includes a variety of emergency rent and utility assistance
Savings program designed to offer households the opportunity to increase their assets
(SSVF) - Provides Homesless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing services to qualifying Veteran families
Provides financial and supportive services, including services to obtain affordable housing and help to HIV+ individuals for accessing healthcare
(VITA) - Free income tax preparation (available February 1 to April 15)
Savings program designed to offer youth the opportunity to increase their assets
Self Reliance Case Management
Individuals work one-on-one with a case manager who will help them achieve goals such as:
- Career exploration
- Goal planning
- Money management/budget planning
- Community resource information/referrals
- Furthering education
- Assertiveness/self-esteem development
