2024 Furnace Training

Weatherization Staff is invited to join us in Wahpeton, ND for Furnace Training presented by renowned National trainer, Anthony Cox. This 2-day intensive training course is designed to help staff enhance their knowledge and skills by offering an overview of furnace technology, inspection and testing, and more. 

WHEN: June 24th & 25th or June 26th & 27th

WHAT: This training will cover a comprehensive range of topics including;

  • Heat Pump Fundamentals and Overview
  • Inspecting/Testing Techniques
  • Sequence of Operations (Gas and Oil)
  • Boiler Operations (High efficiency vs. Traditional)
    • Zone Valves
    • Pumps
    • Expansion tanks
  • Worst Case Draft and Spillage Testing, CAZ Testing Overview
    • This will include demonstrations with the House of Pressure.

WHERE: North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) Wahpeton, ND
COST: $1200/person (includes lunch for both days of training)

About The Trainer

Anthony Cox, Building Science Manager & Lead Trainer, develops and provides training, training props and consulting internationally for the home performance industry, weatherization networks and their subcontractors. Prior to joining CHP in Spring of 1999, Anthony worked in Weatherization with New River Community Action for almost 10 years. He holds a business management degree, licenses in Master HVAC and Residential Building Analyst license in Virginia, and multiple BPI Certifications. Anthony developed the nationally recognized House of Pressure® and H.A.M. House® as training tools to help illustrate building science principles. Anthony participates on multiple national committees in the development of national standards.
