SSVF Eligibility Guidelines and Application
The Veteran must meet three conditions to qualify for SSVF:
Veteran or a member of a Veterans household: Veteran is defined as a person who served in the active military, naval, air, or space service, regardless of length of service, and who was discharged or released therefrom, excluding anyone who received a dishonorable discharge from the Armed Forces or was discharged or dismissed from the Armed Forces by reason of the sentence of general court-martial (38 U.S.C. 2002(b)).
Low-income: Under 80% Area Median Income (AMI)
Literally homeless, or at imminent risk of becoming literally homeless: "At imminent risk of literal homelessness" means the household will be homeless in the next 30 days if no assistance is received.
